What Great Color!

Check out these pics of all the early summer blooms. The new yard has already gone through so many cycles that I am not sure we will be able to keep up with tending to it...or getting pics of it.

Also, it appears the peach has survived and is actually growing for a change. I guess it is true that crossing you fingers really does work.

Peach Post

We are a little concerned that there might be issues with our one and only peach. As you can see in the picture it has actually become a little peach but at this rate it might be the peach harvest of 2010 before it is ready to eat. I check on it almost everyday but it takes weeks to see any noticeable changes. We might have to chalk this one up to not being fully prepared for the responsibilities of fruit tree ownership. All around this has really been a spring for experimenting in our new yard...with some successes and plenty of failures. Next year we will have to do more research so we are ready when the season rolls around. I will continue to update but don't be surprised if the next peach post is blank - wish us luck.

Oh, and I threw in this pic of Justin charcoal grilling just for good measure. I can't believe we ever survived without a yard!

Baseball and Bubbles

There is nothing like spending a weekend outdoors with friends. For the Memorial Day weekend Justin and I ventured out of state to visit our friends the Tuercks. It was a great weekend. We spent our long holiday hanging out with friends, eating good food, and downing plenty of cold beer. Steve and Ruthann have a huge yard that we were able to take advantage of. We played baseball, flew kites and even played a few rousing games of Around the World.

The preparation...
The wind-up...
The throw...
The prayer!
The bubble master (as you can see I am deep in concentration)!
It is always a great time when ther four of us get together and always sad when we have to leave. Hopefully we will have the chance to do it again before too long...my vote is for Vegas even though I don't think they offer high stakes chickenfoot.
