Relax

When Haley's grandpa Dean asked if she wanted to ride the 4-wheeler my first instinct was "oh heck no my baby is not getting on that death trap". Luckily for me the first go round she didn't even let him turn it on so I had a few hours to reevaluate and relax a little. With Justin's support I ended up agreeing to let her ride but only if he promised to go under 1/2 mph. :) She loved it. By the end of the day Jake was riding too (I think drinking might have been involved in this decision). They both couldn't get enough and wanted to go for a ride any chance grandpa was free. I even took them a few times all by myself. :) By the end of the trip I swear Jake was saying "ride". What a fun experience that I am sure they will love even more as they grow older.

Proof that I relaxed...please just help me remember to take helmets and full body pads next time. :)

County Fair Fun

This trip to Nebraska was extra special because we got to spend our days and nights enjoying the fun of the county fair. There was always something to do...4H pig show, tractor pull, parade, bounce activities, watering hole, demolition derby...just to name a few. The kids definitely enjoyed the derby the most and were amazed at all the crashing! :) We really wanted to take the kids to the fair since it was such a important part of Justin's childhood and because they don't get to experience much small town fun in the big city. I doubt we will be able to fit it into the schedule every year but hopefully again soon.

Grandpa Hank

Happy 80th Birthday Grandpa Hank!

Our trip last week to Nebraska started with a birthday celebration for Justin's grandpa Hank who turned 80! It was a great chance for the family to all get together, visit, and celebrate another amazing year. It was also the first time we had all been together as an entire group...ever. What a blast!

After dinner we let the kids play outside for a while to run out all the remaining excitement they had from the first day in Nebraska.. Sorry the picture aren't great but I couldn't not post them. :)
