Jake's Birth Day

Since this one is so ridiculously late I decided to post date it back to Jake's birth date. I am actually writing this on 5/5/2011.
Justin and I left the house at 5:30 Wednesday morning and headed off to the hospital for the scheduled arrival of our newest addition. After arriving at the hospital we got checked in and were in a room within about an hour. They began the Pitocin around 7:30 and we were off and laboring. The morning went by pretty uneventful. Around lunch time they came in and I got my epidural. Around the same time Haley came up for a last minute visit. We hung out for just a minute and then she was off to explore the hospital while I got down to business. I started feeling the contractions around 1:30ish and by 2:18 Jake Owen Buskirk was here. I really didn't take too much work on my part. I only had to actually push through 3 contractions and he was here. It was truly awesome...easiest delivery ever! He was just the most perfect little boy I had ever seen. He weighed in at 8 pounds 3 ounces and was 21 3/4 inches long. We loved him instantly.

Shortly after delivery Haley got to come up to meet Jake. She looked him over briefly but decided in the end that she would rather be out in the waiting room with her cousins. She never seemed jealous or anything...just disinterested. It wore off quickly. At her next visit she was ready for hugs and kisses and even an attempt at holding. What a great big sister she already is.

Welcome to the family little Jake! We love you.

Jake Owen Buskirk

Jake Owen Buskirk arrived at 2:13 pm on Wednesday March 2nd. He weighed in at 8 lbs 3 oz, was 20 3/4 inches, and is the most handsome baby boy we have ever seen. I will provide more details of the day later...hopefully these pictures will hold everyone over for now.
