Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas in Geronimo. The weather was a little dreary all weekend but we made due and managed to even make some great memories. This was Jake's first Christmas and Haley's first Christmas where she actually got into it. It was so fun to watch our little ones enjoy in the holiday excitement. Haley carefully opened each of her presents and then tore through Jake's..what a helpful big sister.

Needing a little rest after all the present opening!
At this point I still think she thought they were all for her!

Baby Cousins
Look at this picture again...now there are three baby cousins!
We rounded out the holiday weekend with a bonfire...the perfect excuse to wear his camo!

We Love the Zoo

We went to the zoo this morning with some family and friends. With everyone out of school it was a great chance for us all to get together. The weather was chilly but we survived. Please excuse all the runny noses. :) Here's our zoo crew...

A special treat...Santa was there. This time I was able to get Haley to sit in his lap but there was no smiling...or even looking mildly happy for that matter. Jake, on the other hand, was just confused as to who the old man holding him was.

Christmas Train

We took the kids to the Alvin Christmas train on Tuesday night. Santa was there but apparently Haley has decided to be scared of him and didn't want to sit on his lap. Maybe next year. The weather was a little chilly so we bundled up and boarded the train. Haley absolutely loved it. Around every turn you could see the Christmas excitement come over her face. After the quick trip we headed next door for some pizza. It was a fun evening!

Merry Christmas!

Nine Months

Jake had his nine month checkup yesterday and things went really well. He is right on track with his measurements except for his height...he is in the 92%...maybe we have a basketball superstar on our hands. :) No shots this go round so he(I) was really happy. I say it every month but he really is growing up to fast.

Jake's nine month facts:

He is now switching between crawling on all fours and army crawling...he just can't decided which he likes more.
He is pulling up on the furniture every chance he gets and will take a few steps.
He loves banana yogurt.
He hates table food...excluding Chickfila fries and apparently Santa cookies (see pic below).
He still just has two bottom teeth but has one coming in on the top any day now.
His new sure fire giggle producer is pat-a-cake.
He loves the song "I'm a Tex, I'm a Tex, I'm a Texas star."
His favorite past time is watching Haley do anything.
Happy 9 months little man!

Snow Day

We spent the week of Thanksgiving in Nebraska this year. All week long the weather was pretty unseasonably warm, which for them is fun but for us it is a bummer since we always enjoy the change in temperature. It was like we packed Texas in our bags and took it with us. Fortunately when we packed our bags back up for the trip home it seems we didn't forget Texas...it snowed that night. No heavy snowman making snow but enough for a few snowballs before we hit the road. Haley thought it was awesome...Jake slept through it.
